Following our recent celebrations for our 20th year of operation, we have reason again to celebrate, as one of our team – Tom Porter-Collard – recently received confirmation that he has passed his Masters Degree in Building Surveying.
Tom has been working part time at Building Surveyors Limited since April 2021. With over a decade of experience in estate agency, primarily as a branch manager, Tom initially joined us for one day a week, while continuing his work as an estate agent and studying part time at Northumbria University.
Within a few months, Tom had established himself as a member of the team, undertaking a variety of roles individually and in support of the rest of the team. Following this promising start, Tom decided to leave estate agency altogether, pick up additional days of work at Building Surveyors Limited, while continuing with his studies.
Following the completion of a dissertation/research project, he took on a full time role at the company, while eagerly awaiting his final results. Tom was delighted to have passed and commented, “Though it was certainly scary deciding to change career after having established myself as an estate agent over the last decade, I am delighted to have found such a great company to work for. I am sure that the experience through university would have been all the more challenging, without the support from an excellent and knowledgeable group of colleagues at BSL.”
Tom has enrolled as an APC candidate and is focussed on achieving his membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as soon as possible.
